Differences between Air Conditioners & Air Coolers in Singapore

   

Air Coolers

 
• In Singapore, Air Coolers can only slightly reduce the temperature (1-3 Degrees) • Less expensive to purchase and to run • Does not require installation and is ‘plug and play’ • Has mobility and can be freely moved around • High airflow (like a very powerful fan) More suited for outdoor areas where airflow volume is more important than temperature of the air

Portable Air Con (Home/Office)

• Can significantly reduce temperature (3-10 Degrees) • More expensive to purchase and to run • Requires installation of ducting to dissipate hot air to an open area • Can be easily ‘uninstalled’ for installation at another location (great for rented premises) • Works like a regular air con More suited for indoor/enclosed areas where temperature of the air in the room is more important than the ‘wind’ volume

• Can significantly reduce temperature (3-10 Degrees) • Even More expensive to purchase and to run • Requires installation of ducting to dissipate hot air to an open area when used indoors • Much larger coverage and air flow than home/office air con • Can be easily ‘uninstalled’ for installation at another location (great for rented premises) • Works like a regular air con • ‘Spot’ cooling (direct to people or materials) where cooling the entire area is not possible Suited for both indoor and outdoor areas where temperature of the air is more important than the ‘wind’ volume
